Local Attractions
One of the most beautiful mountains in Greece, Pelion - in mythology - was known as the home of the Centaurs, most famously Chiron, tutor of the Homeric hero Achilles. Nearby is the city of Volos, in antiquity Iolkos, starting point for Jason in his quest for the Golden Fleece.
Katichori has a stunning view towards the town of Volos. A walk of approximately 15 minutes takes you to the nearby traditional village of Portaria, with its fine shops, restaurants, and cafes. Further afield, Pelion is full of interesting villages and settlements, as well as hiking trails and beaches.
Availability
This house is offered for one week any time in 2024, excluding Greek Orthodox Easter week (April 30-May 7) and the summer months of June, July and August.
How to Get There
By car, the village is approximately four hours from Athens and three hours from Thessaloniki. It is also possible to take a train from either city to Volos, and then drive (taxi or rent a car) to the village, a 30-minute drive.
Fine Print
No more than six guests are permitted. Pets are allowed. No smoking. Laundry and maid service is available upon private arrangement with the house manager, and paid directly to her.
