Local Attractions
A footpath from the house leads in 15 minutes to Ioulida, the island's main town, a charming cluster of picturesque houses climbing up the hillside to form a kind of amphitheater. It has shops, lively restaurants and bars as well as a fine archaeological museum. In addition, the town has car rental agencies and companies that offer scuba-diving guided visits to underwater shipwrecks. Ioulida is also home to an ancient stone-carved lion, perhaps its most noted monument.
